We offer primitive camping options, including Tee Pees, Rustic Shelters, A-frames, and a Hostel for singles or groups.

Are children allowed at The Shelters Butler Mill

We currently only allow ages 10+

What should I bring with me?

We provide the shelter. You provide everything else. So you'll still need sleeping bags/bedding, coolers, cooking gear (although we do have some grills on site), chairs, flashlights, toiletries, etc.. We also do not provide firewood, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Is there anything not allowed in the campgrounds?

No generators, children under 10, or pets.

Do you provide any amenities for campers?

Yes, we provide free ice, water jugs, bug nets, and WiFi to ensure a comfortable and connected stay.

What activities are available at the campground?

Guests can enjoy a range of activities, including Movie Nights, horseshoes, cornhole, archery, axe throwing, hiking, and whiskey tasting.

Is kayaking available nearby?

Yes, we are located on the Paint Rock River, and also near the Flint River and Brown Bear Kayaking, all offering great kayaking experiences for all skill levels.

Are there any hunting opportunities nearby?

The area around Grant, Alabama, offers excellent hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, and small game, with several public hunting lands nearby.

What nearby attractions can campers explore?

Campers can explore nearby attractions like Stephens Gap Cave, Cathedral Caverns State Park, the scenic Paint Rock River, and Lake Guntersville State Park.
